IN MEMORIAM: JEFF COOPER.:  Jeff Cooper, one of the founding members of Elevator U and host of the first EU (then known as Big 10 & Friends) in 1998, passed away unexpectedly on September 26 at age 65. Cooper, known as just "Coop" by many friends, had been employed at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, for the past 38 years, most recently as elevator systems specialist. Colleagues remember him as knowledgeable, kind, funny and always "a class act." Cooper hosted EU in 1999, 2002 and 2010. A man for whom family always came first, Cooper enjoyed playing and collecting guitars, bird watching and cooking for family and friends. Survivors include wife, Kathryn "Kitty"; children, Kati and Cole; brother, Richard; and mother, Lucille. Services were held in October.
